About Ability Support Care Tasmania

Experienced, person-centred support across Tasmania’s North West Coast.

SUPPORT SHAPED BY EXPERIENCE

Getting to know what matters to you

Ability Support Care Tasmania was created to help people with disability feel heard, respected and confident in the support they receive. Drawing on more than seven years of experience in the disability sector, we understand how important it is for assistance to fit naturally into each person’s life.

We take time to learn about your routines, communication preferences, interests and plans for the future. From there, we work alongside you, your family, carers and other professionals to create clear arrangements that reflect your individual circumstances and NDIS goals.

Our values

The principles behind our work

Our values guide the decisions we make, the relationships we build and the way each person is treated. They help us create an environment where participants can express their preferences, explore new opportunities and feel confident raising questions or concerns.

Respect & Dignity

Every person is treated with kindness and consideration. We respect your rights, culture, privacy, personal boundaries and decisions about your own life.

Person-Centred Support

Your goals and preferences guide the direction of your support. We listen carefully and shape each arrangement around who you are and what matters to you.

Integrity & Trust

We communicate openly, act responsibly and follow through on our commitments. Participants, families and professionals can expect honesty and accountability from our team.

Inclusion & Community

Everyone deserves opportunities to connect, participate and feel valued. We help participants explore interests, form relationships and become more involved in their communities.

Empowerment & Growth

We encourage participants to make informed decisions, try new experiences and strengthen skills that can increase confidence and independence over time.

Why we exist

More choice in everyday life

A good life looks different for everyone. For one person, it may mean feeling settled in their own home. For another, it could involve finding work, learning to travel independently or joining activities where they can meet new people. Our role is to recognise those individual ambitions and help turn them into achievable steps.

The Ability Support Care Mission

To deliver respectful, reliable and individualised assistance that strengthens each participant’s skills, confidence and ability to make decisions about their own life.

The Ability Support Care Vision

To build a community where people with disability have genuine opportunities to choose how they live, pursue meaningful goals and take part in experiences that matter to them.

Why you'll love us

Behind our approach

Our approach is informed by more than seven years of direct disability-sector experience and a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability). This includes assisting participants with personal care, daily living, transport, community access, capacity building and individual NDIS goals.

We also bring experience organising respite trips and community-based activities, giving participants opportunities to explore unfamiliar places, connect socially and build confidence away from their usual routines.

Knowledge built through direct support

Understanding the bigger picture

Quality support involves more than completing the activities planned for a shift. It means recognising changes, respecting dignity of risk and understanding how each person’s environment, relationships and communication style can affect their experience.

Our background includes working closely with participants, families, carers, support coordinators and allied health professionals. We understand the importance of safeguarding, duty of care, participant rights and clear communication between everyone involved.

This experience helps Ability Support Care Tasmania approach each situation thoughtfully, respond to individual circumstances and keep the participant’s voice central throughout their support.
